REBECCA SCHIFFMAN
…is an arts writer, critic, researcher, and editor based in New York. She received her MA in Art History from Hunter College and her BA in Art History from New York University. Her studies focused on Édouard Manet, the ethnographies of photography, Surrealism, and WWII-era artists.
Schiffman is a cultural critic whose writing appears in publications including Hyperallergic, The Brooklyn Rail, Art & Object, and Nka: Journal of Contemporary African Art. She has contributed research to projects at Hunter College, and The Jewish Museum’s exhibition catalogue, Edith Halpert and the Rise of American Art. She is a member of the International Council of Museums.
Schiffman previously held the roles of Communications Manager at Gladstone Gallery, Communications Coordinator at Hauser & Wirth, Research Assistant to Joachim Pissarro, and was most recently the Studio Manager at Chloe Wise Studio.
